Update
I've been in Iowa City for about two weeks now. My social life has been more active than when I lived in Des Moines. I still miss my house, neighbors, neighborhood...That will take a while.Here's a warning I want to pass on. At my previous home I had broadband phone service through Vonage. I was pleased with the service and company, however I decided to go with another carrier when I moved. This is where the warning is--canceling service with Vonage is a nightmare. I am not being dramatic. I was on hold and transferred 4 times the other night and I still don't know if the service was cancelled. This was after many such attempts where I didn't have 90 minutes to give them. I'm now disputing charges through my credit card company and hoping this will end it. I think they are hoping you just give up and stay.
The thought of going back to their service was erased with this experience.
So, I'm in that moving transition phase where every time I unpack a box it feels like Christmas. And whenever I find something I couldn't find fills me with great joy. With that said, I still hate moving.
